Perdue Foods is a leading provider of premium proteins, committed to innovation and growth. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production machinery and automated systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and perform preventive maintenance on production machinery, automated systems, and electrical systems.
  • Prepare equipment for sanitation and perform specific duties during production hours, such as lubrication, cleaning, changeovers, adjustments, and blade replacement.
  • Observe and adjust equipment for proper operation during production and report problems to management.
  • Read, interpret, and understand manufacturers' equipment manuals.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and replace parts on weekends.
  • Assist in equipment modifications or rebuilds to ensure they meet production requirements.
  • Maintain work and production areas during production and on weekends as needed.
  • Provide training and direction to lower-level mechanics and techs in servicing, repairing, and maintaining equipment.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree and/or technical school certification or relevant training is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience maintaining manufacturing systems and equipment in an automated plant.
  • Training and experience with compressed air systems, boilers, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Excellent English, math, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make correct calculations when completing maintenance repairs.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements:
  • Position is active, with routine activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems.
  • May need to move equipment occasionally.
  • Exposure to wet and moist floors, temperatures ranging from 28 - 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and noise levels up to 88 db.
  • Ability to lift 80 lbs. and move throughout the department.
