JOB PURPOSE

The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County is dedicated to transforming the lives of young individuals. We strive to ensure that every youth who engages with us receives an exceptional club experience that paves the way for a promising future.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

The Youth Program Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, development, execution, and assessment of all youth services, with a particular focus on character and leadership development.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Implement the Formula for Impact to ensure the Club effectively reaches youth in need, fostering an outcome-driven experience that promotes academic achievement, healthier lifestyles, and enhanced character and citizenship.
  2. Provide a safe, positive, and productive environment for all club members, staff, and volunteers.
  3. Act as a dedicated youth advocate, especially for teens requiring role models, resources, and support.
  4. Design and deliver engaging, educational, and enjoyable programs and activities that align with the Formula for Impact objectives.
  5. Recruit and maintain participant engagement throughout program durations to ensure effective education and connection with youth.
  6. Contribute positively to a culture of teamwork within the organization.
  7. Represent and advocate for the agency at community meetings and coalitions as the organization expands.
  8. Evaluate all services to accurately measure program success and identify challenges.
  9. Ensure compliance with grants and funding requirements, maintaining accurate documentation including logs and attendance records.
  10. Engage in ongoing professional development through training, conferences, and workshops to enhance skills and address youth needs.
  11. Foster collaborative partnerships with public, civic groups, social agencies, and community members, including parents.
  12. Maintain regular communication with Club Directors and staff to clarify program objectives and standards, and address any issues.
  13. Manage the Club's financial resources, assisting in budget development and monitoring expenditures.
  14. Maintain close contact with staff, members, volunteers, and supervisors to facilitate information exchange and problem resolution.
  15. Participate in BGCA training, internal training sessions, and staff meetings.
  16. Oversee special programs and events as necessary and participate in Club activities.
  17. Travel between sites and to activities as required.
  18. Perform cleaning duties as needed at the end of the day.
  19. Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the Club Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

BACKGROUND SCREENING

Must pass Level 2 background screening through the appropriate state department and a pre-employment drug test.

CERTIFICATIONS

Current CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization, focusing on planning and supervising youth activities, or a minimum of 2 years in youth development and programming for after-school initiatives.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

Ability to work regular hours, including evenings and weekends. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. High energy, motivated, and flexible with effective time management and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of operating basic office equipment. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and promoting respect and dignity for all individuals served.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This role is situated in dynamic environments, including clubhouses and school-based settings, where youth engagement is critical. Flexibility in scheduling and location is essential to meet the organization's needs.
