What are we seeking in our Solutions Architect?


Job Title: Solutions Architect

Employment Type: Contract/ Onsite

Location: Remote

Compensation: $55-$60/hr, based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Solutions Architect will oversee intricate technology deployments, focusing on continuous improvement and refinement to create the most efficient and effective systems to meet business needs.
  • Leverage open-source resources to implement systems on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platforms.
  • Share expertise across a diverse team and engage in various methodologies, contributing to the establishment of vision, objectives, and success metrics.
  • Design the overall system architecture through prototyping and proof of concepts, utilizing modern programming languages (e.g., Ruby, Python) and web frameworks (e.g., Django, Rails), along with contemporary front-end technologies (e.g., HTML5, CSS3, RESTful APIs) and frameworks (e.g., Twitter Bootstrap, jQuery), relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), and NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB).
  • Implement automated configuration management tools (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt) and ensure continuous integration/deployment and monitoring solutions.
  • Utilize version control systems (e.g., Git and GitHub) effectively.
  • Align technical design and architecture with business growth strategies and stay informed about emerging technologies.
  • Break down business and system architecture to facilitate clean-interface multi-team development.
  • Create product roadmaps, backlogs, and measurable success criteria, and draft user stories to guide delivery processes while effectively communicating with stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications:

  • At least eight (8) years of experience in systems development, analysis, programming, or testing.
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related or Engineering discipline; additional relevant experience may substitute for formal education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Proficient in analyzing and developing both conceptual and detailed designs.
  • Experience with JBOSS Messaging and Spring-JMS connectivity; adept at designing database schemas in alignment with requirements and legacy systems; capable of implementing routine jobs that interact with external interfaces while collaborating with business stakeholders to gather requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams at both team and executive levels to understand performance measurement methodologies and guide team members in compiling business requirements and achieving project milestones.

Preferred Skills:

  • Three (3) years of professional experience in developing web application user interfaces using a variety of technologies and frameworks, including JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Scala, Ajax, jQuery, AngularJS, Angular, ReactJS, Versata framework, Bootstrap framework, Struts, Play, and Spring MVC. Familiarity with DevOps practices (CI/CD) and setting up pipelines using Jenkins, Artifactory, Git, SonarQube, and Maven.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Proficient in creating, publishing, and invoking RESTful and SOAP web services.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with relational database management systems, including Oracle.
  • Experienced with SQL Server and PL/SQL, with extensive work involving JDBC to connect to and access various remote databases.
