About the Role

As a Food and Beverage Expert at Target, you will play a critical role in delivering an exceptional guest experience in our food and beverage areas. You will be responsible for ensuring that our guests have a fresh, full, and food-safe shopping experience every day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver an exceptional guest experience by providing a welcoming and helpful attitude towards guests and other team members.
  • Uphold and maintain the execution of Food and Beverage Standards, ensuring that all food and beverage areas are clean, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Understand how operational procedures impact shortage and profitability, and execute processes to minimize waste and maximize sales.
  • Partner with Direct Store Delivery (DSD) distributors to proactively set and maintain DSD POGs, transitions, and backroom space.
  • Locate and identify damaged, recalled, or expired items and process according to best practice.
  • Use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales.
  • Thank guests in a genuine way and let them know we're happy they chose to shop at Target.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Previous food or grocery experience preferred, but not required.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude towards guests and other team members.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
  • Work both independently and with a team.
  • Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
  • Attention to detail and follow multi-step processes.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
