Position Overview
WBS, a division of WEC Energy Group, is in search of an IT Applications Analyst - Energy Management and Market Solutions to be based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This role provides a flexible working arrangement, allowing for remote or hybrid options while maintaining regular office presence.
Job Summary
The IT Applications Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting our energy management systems within the Energy Management and Market Solutions (EMMS) division. This position involves close collaboration with real-time control centers and various business units to ensure precise configurations and system data integrity within the energy management framework. Key responsibilities include the development, support, and quality assurance of applications related to energy management systems and financial models within energy markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support for computer systems, software applications, databases, and tools. Analyze error conditions, identify potential issues, and apply root cause analysis techniques to expedite resolutions.
- Engage in full-stack software development for energy management system applications.
- Design, modify, develop, implement, and test system configurations.
- Create and review documentation that outlines configuration processes, logic, and testing protocols. Develop user manuals as necessary.
- Establish and maintain plans to ensure data integrity, system reliability, and consistency.
- Act as a liaison among various teams, including field support, Database Administration, Network Support, and Computer Operations.
- Formulate implementation plans for individual tasks and small to medium-sized projects, overseeing scope, estimation, and resource tracking.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities as part of a rotation.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or Engineering is preferred. Completion of a certified Application Development Apprenticeship will also be considered.
- A solid technical foundation in application development practices coupled with strong analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills to facilitate communication between IT and business stakeholders.
- Experience in coding with Microsoft's VB.Net or .Net framework.
- Knowledge of relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server.
- Ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences in both small and large group settings.
- Comprehension of technical environments necessary to support energy management systems.
- Capability to gather and analyze data to identify root causes of issues.
