At Michael Foods Inc., we are seeking an experienced Automation Technician to join our team in the production facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and improving the electrical and automation systems within the plant.

Job Summary

The Automation Technician role requires a strong industrial electrical background with experience in PLCs and automation software. This position involves collaborating with internal and external resources to resolve issues and support continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership and support to electrical and instrumentation technicians at the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely and efficiently maintain, troubleshoot and improve electrical and automation subsystems
  • Work with minimal supervision, responding to changing priorities and interacting with diverse groups of people
  • Effectively communicate project status with management, vendors, peers, and production personnel
  • Provide technical leadership and support to electrical and instrumentation technicians
  • Troubleshoot process issues with automation software and hardware issues with PLCs and touchscreens
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
  • Five years' experience in industrial electrical background in a manufacturing environment (food processing plant preferred)
  • Experience in mechanical systems and pneumatics helpful
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as electrical schematics, safety rules, and operating instructions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

We offer a competitive salary of $ $$90,000 - $110,000 per year**
