Job Overview

Pathlight Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Specialist to join our team. This role involves providing one-on-one support to an individual with developmental disabilities, focusing on personal care and community companionship.

About the Position

This full-time position requires regular attendance, with specific availability needed on Mondays from 4-8 PM. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to maintain confidentiality, and have a strong commitment to promoting dignity, safety, health, welfare, rights, and development of individuals with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care services, including eating, dressing, bathing, toileting, and assisting with walking, transfers, and lifting as needed.
  • Participate in individualized services, staying up-to-date on changes and following established methods, techniques, and procedures for engaging, assisting, and monitoring individuals.
  • Maintain regular attendance and remain available to individuals served at all times.
  • Follow program policies and procedures for crisis management, emergencies, health, safety, human rights, and preventing and reporting abuse.
  • Respond to routine inquiries, visitors, and related staff or professionals as outlined in program standards.
  • Provide First Aid/CPR and seek emergency medical care as needed.
  • Accompany individuals to appointments, provide transportation, and submit work time sheets with summaries of activities in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of related experience.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Hiring Requirements
  • Human Services field experience, personal care services, and basic teaching instruction requiring some advanced skills knowledge.
  • Person-specific training for delivery of ADLs and personal care.
  • First Aid, Fire Safety, CPR, Human Rights, Privacy, Confidentiality.

The estimated salary range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Pathlight Group offers a supportive work environment, opportunities for professional growth, and competitive benefits.
