We are seeking a Recreation and Park Aide - Sports Ground Crew to join our team at the City of Columbus. As a key member of our parks and recreation department, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks related to the maintenance and upkeep of our recreational facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general grounds cleaning work, including picking up debris, raking leaves, and trimming grass.
- Assist with the maintenance of athletic fields, playgrounds, and boat docks.
- Distribute and collect sports equipment, such as volleyball and basketball nets.
- Act as an attendant at various rented recreational facilities, collecting and verifying user permits and ensuring standards of acceptable conduct.
- Perform minor repairs to facilities, fixtures, and equipment.
- Assist skilled park, forestry, and horticultural personnel in the care of various plants and trees.
- Possession of a valid driver's license may be required for some assignments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a variety of weather conditions.
