Job Summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Lead Cashier to join our team. As a key member of the store team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and well-stocked food and beverage area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring every traveler leaves the store better than they came
  • Process transactions efficiently and accurately, maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Order, receive, and unload product, stock, organize, and rotate merchandise on planograms
  • Perform cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and perform end-of-day reporting
  • Assist with creating and managing the team's schedule and train lower-level cashiers on job duties and responsibilities
  • Prioritize work according to store and management needs, following safety guidelines and reporting potentially unsafe situations
  • Establish strong communication and rapport with leaders and co-workers
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of cashier experience, with computer/POS knowledge and cash handling skills
  • Register audits and safe counting experience preferred, with merchandising/stocking experience required
  • Good verbal communication skills and ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays
