Pharmaceutical Compounding Technician

The Pharmaceutical Compounding Technician plays a crucial role in delivering precise and timely pharmaceutical services.
Responsibilities include the preparation, compounding, packaging, labeling, and dispensing of medications, nutritional products, IV admixtures, and solutions (such as chemotherapy and biotherapy), as well as Durable Medical Equipment (DME) in accordance with BASS Medical Group policies and relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the accurate preparation of IV admixtures and solutions.
- Assist in managing and controlling inventory of medications and supplies.
- Maintain optimal stock levels and handle investigational drugs following established protocols.
- Oversee patient assistance programs and manage associated inventory.
- Verify pricing accuracy and complete necessary regulatory documentation.
- Ensure proper storage conditions for medications.
- Document relevant information in patient medical records.
- Comply with organizational policies and applicable laws to protect patient privacy.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or equivalent experience.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of California (PHRMTECHR).
- Preferred experience in IV admixture preparation, sterile techniques, outpatient dispensing, and drug inventory management.
Skills and Knowledge
- Understanding of contemporary pharmacy practices, including compounding and familiarity with pharmacy data systems.
- Proficient in medical terminology, drug nomenclature, and calculations for dosage and admixture.
- Knowledge of legal and accreditation standards relevant to pharmacy operations.
Communication and Collaboration
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Ability to work within established policies and procedures while maintaining workflow efficiency.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and negotiation.
