Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Atlantic Health System Hospital Corporation - 100 Madison Avenue. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing mammographic procedures on in/outpatients according to published department protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mammographic procedures on in/outpatients according to published department protocols.
  • Review each prescription, history questionnaire, and patient record prior to the examination to ensure all pertinent information is available for radiologist interpretation.
  • Perform radiologic examinations with a high standard of accuracy in positioning and technical factors.
  • Practice universal precautions and aseptic technique to prevent cross contamination.
  • Monitor and resolve exceptions list daily.
  • Properly utilize the Breast reporting system (PenRad), EMR, and PACS systems.
  • Analyze each acquired image for proper positioning, markers, date stickers, and patient identification.
  • Repeat image if presence of any factors that may deter from its diagnostic value.
  • Maintain a responsive and respectful relationship with patients.
  • Assess and respond to patients' physical, sociological, and psychological needs.
  • Communicate efficiently with coordinators, supervisors, point person, and vendors.
  • Ensure continuity and adequate follow-through regarding equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform bone density scans accurately, understanding terminology and results.
  • Accurately review interventional cases and work knowledge of interventional procedures and protocols.
  • Assist with needle localizations and, if trained, stereotactic biopsies.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Able to perform screening and diagnostic mammography at a minimum.
  • Ability to perform DEXA and biopsy procedures (plus).
