**Overview:**
The Aviation Maintenance Technician is responsible for the comprehensive servicing, repair, and overhaul of aircraft to guarantee operational safety and reliability. This role involves the repair, replacement, and reconstruction of aircraft structures, including wings, fuselage, and control surfaces, utilizing a variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as welding apparatus and rivet guns. The technician will interpret technical manuals, maintenance guides, and service bulletins to assess the feasibility and methodology for rectifying or substituting malfunctioning components. Inspections for fluid leaks, structural integrity, and other potential damages are essential duties of this position.
**Key Responsibilities:**
The technician will maintain and service the environmental and egress systems of the F/A-18 aircraft, adhering to relevant technical publications and directives. Responsibilities include:
- Utilizing technical expertise to diagnose equipment failures and restore functionality.
- Evaluating the performance and dependability of modifications and suggesting improvements to installation protocols.
- Interpreting manufacturer documentation to resolve aircraft system issues.
- Working with ground support equipment and special calibration tools as necessary.
- Performing a range of maintenance tasks across all aircraft systems, functioning as a general Aircraft Mechanic when required.
**Qualifications:**
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in organizational-level aircraft system maintenance.
- Proficient in the use of specialized tools and equipment for maintenance tasks.
- Willingness to work shifts as needed.
- High School diploma or equivalent; completion of Navy Aviation Class A School or equivalent military training is preferred.
- Preferred experience includes 18 months in a Quality Assurance role or similar capacity.
- Ability to complete required qualifications and training within the initial employment period.
- Physical capability to perform all job functions, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal.
**Additional Requirements:**
