Aircraft Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary:
Kay and Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic II to join our team. As an Aircraft Mechanic II, you will be responsible for performing intermediate-level maintenance on aircraft systems, including engines, sheet metal, and structural components. You will also be required to lead teams through complex aircraft-related tasks and provide input to Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC) and Estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD) preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform intermediate-level maintenance on aircraft systems, including engines, sheet metal, and structural components.
- Lead teams through complex aircraft-related tasks.
- Provide input to Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC) and Estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD) preparation.
- Inspect and repair aircraft components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
- Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition and operation.
- Use hand tools, power tools, machines, and specific and general aviation test measurement and diagnostic equipment.
- Inspect, repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft components and subcomponents, including rigging of flight control.
- Read and interpret manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
- Support Equipment (SE) operation and inspections.
- Requisition repair parts, materials, and consumable supplies through the military supply system.
- Perform general housekeeping and organization of workstations, shops, and maintenance facilities to provide a clean, safe, and FOD-free environment.
Requirements:
- Seven or more years of AAS maintenance experience.
- Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) for AAS assets.
- Qualified and certified Ordnance CDI Team Leader IAW OPNAVINST 8023.24 and MCO 8023.3D.
- Naval Aviation Maintenance Control Management course (C-555-0053).
- Basic Corrosion Control.
- Must be able to work shift maintenance as required.
- Must be able to work flexible work-week schedules as required.
- Must be able to climb ladders, raised platforms, and work on top of and below aircraft.
- Must be able to use hand and power tools.
- Must have dexterity to handle small parts.
- Must be able to deploy to support off-station exercises and perform other support duties as assigned.
- Satisfactory completion of a National Agency Check Local Records Check and Credit (NACLC) or Access National Agency Check with written Inquiries (ANACI) resulting in eligibility for a SECRET clearance shall be required of employees assigned.
- Must be eligible for Common Access Card (CAC).
