Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations related to discontinued lines, focusing on accounting and financial activities. This includes managing finance-related cash flow, collections, financial reporting, and processing transactions to ensure accurate representation of business results.

Collaborate with insurance brokers and reinsurers to optimize recoveries and collections from discontinued lines while addressing complex issues to minimize Schedule F penalties.

Coordinate with accounting personnel and finance management, as well as external partners, to resolve intricate or non-standard issues escalated by team members, which may involve troubleshooting system challenges.

Analyze financial data related to discontinued lines to enhance understanding of specific accounts or transactions and identify areas for process improvement.

Implement modifications to finance policies and procedures based on directives from the finance manager for Runoff Operations.
Participate in projects aimed at system upgrades or enhancements as needed.

Provide support to corporate accounting by addressing inquiries and clarifying processes related to Runoff Operations.

Develop and mentor a small team of accountants or accounting associates, fostering professional growth and enhancing capabilities.

Manage performance based on job responsibilities and organizational objectives, providing constructive feedback and conducting annual evaluations.

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Preferred Education:
Master's degree in Accounting or Finance, along with professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, CIA, or CISA.
Required Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years in finance or accounting roles, with leadership and supervisory experience.

Preferred Work Experience:
Experience in the insurance or reinsurance sector, particularly in discontinued lines operations.

Required Skills:
In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).
Advanced finance and accounting skills specific to discontinued lines, including payables, receivables, cash management, and reporting.
Proficiency in financial systems and standard software applications, particularly PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office, and OnBase.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and team leadership abilities.
Results-oriented with the capability to motivate others in a deadline-driven environment.
Intermediate analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:
Advanced understanding of the insurance and reinsurance industries.
Familiarity with Sapiens Reinsurance Pro or similar claims systems.
Knowledge of discontinued lines business practices.
The salary range for this position is competitive and will be determined based on individual qualifications and experience.
