Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead machine shop floor operations, following a work schedule and maintaining safety standards.
  • Plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures, and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, and operating procedures.
  • Motivate and mentor team members, providing technical direction and responding to individual employee needs.
  • Balance quality, productivity, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
  • Maintain and enforce safety standards across the shop floor.
  • Exercise good judgment and demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal).
  • The ability to be organized and prioritize floor needs.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere.
Requirements
  • High school or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 5 years of machining experience, preferably with 2 of those years being in supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Milling experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attentive to detail; organized.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines, and to work in a team environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Work Environment/Physical Demands

This position operates as a heavy presence on the manufacturing floor. The employee will be responsible for driving a forklift daily. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must lift up to fifty (50) lbs. occasionally.

Salary Description

$85,000-$90,000
