Role Overview:

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will provide expert technical guidance and take charge of the strategic direction for the upkeep, standards, life-cycle management, design, and execution of the organization’s server infrastructure and related systems.

Your responsibilities will include the formulation, assessment, and execution of plans and design strategies for impactful IT solutions utilizing cutting-edge technologies. You will consider critical factors such as long-term viability, service delivery, cost efficiency, and technical constraints while collaborating with corporate headquarters.

In this role, you will lead or contribute to the design and implementation of server infrastructure prototypes, ensuring high complexity tasks are managed effectively. You will engage in performance testing, integration analysis, and both business and technical evaluations.


Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership (75%):
  • Administer Linux systems.
  • Oversee storage systems management (experience with Hitachi is highly preferred).
  • Manage enterprise backup systems (Netbackup & Veeam).
  • Monitor Linux system performance.
  • Guarantee systems are secure, highly available, manageable, and cost-effective.

Project Management (25%):
  • Oversee a diverse portfolio of projects, tasks, and systems.
  • Guide projects from initial requirements through to completion, ensuring thorough documentation.
  • Facilitate formal project meetings with team members, other departments, and stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as the primary OS administrator for Linux servers and storage/SAN.
  • Proven experience in the maintenance and configuration of storage, SAN, and enterprise backup systems.
  • Linux + certification is preferred.
  • Red Hat Level Linux Certification is preferred.
  • Hitachi or NetApp Storage Certification is preferred.

Compensation: Salary range is $85,000 - $105,000
