Job Title: Senior Cloud Computing Engineer

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Computing Engineer to join our Cloud One Digital Engineering Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud infrastructure on AWS.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze existing system architecture and recommend secure design changes to the Cloud One AWS environment.
  • Develop scripts and workflows for automated deployment (IaC/CaC).
  • Provide input to design documents, best practice configurations, and test procedures.
  • Execute testing to validate system performance.
  • Recommend improvements to the existing architecture and process to reduce repetitive or time-intensive tasks.
  • Provide experienced input on AWS cloud toolsets and best practices.
  • Configure and troubleshoot cloud, virtual, and physical hardware and software systems.
  • Proactively identify and resolve operational, tooling, and process inefficiencies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years or more experience; Master's degree and three (3) years or more experience.
  • Additional experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Interim Secret clearance required to start; ability to obtain Secret clearance required to maintain employment.
  • US citizenship required.
  • Demonstrated experience with AWS, Networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, SQL, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, and Guacamole.
  • Experience working with DevSecOps tool chains.
  • Proven experience containerizing applications.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting cloud, virtual, and physical hardware and software systems.
  • Hands-on expertise establishing and maintaining SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience preparing technical documentation.
  • Experience working in a team environment with the ability to mentor junior team members.
  • AWS Cloud Certification with experience as AWS Cloud Engineer.
  • Security+ Certification or equivalent.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Zero trust architectures.
  • Experience with AWS Workspaces or experience deploying VDI solutions to AWS Cloud.
  • Experience with AF Cloud One or Platform 1 development, engineering, operations, and sustainment.
  • Experience installing DE tools including Cameo, 3D Experience, DOORS, SPARX, MathWorks, and AFSIM.
  • In-depth understanding of, and experience as a cloud engineer with AWS, Networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, SQL, storage, Barracuda.
