About the Role

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at the Maternal-Fetal Diagnostic Center of Atlanta. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide diagnostic ultrasound tests for patients with complicated and high-risk pregnancies.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations and provide clear explanations of procedures.
  • Conduct ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and record anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
  • Assist physicians during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure the appropriate consent and/or declinations are obtained.
  • Code services performed and submit completed billing worksheets daily.
  • Notify Patient Service Associates of additional services requiring authorization.
  • Maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment and recognize equipment malfunctions.
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies.
  • Maintain archives/records scans and effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
Requirements
  • Minimum six months experience as an ultrasound technician in an OB/GYN and/or MFM setting.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in operating ultrasound equipment.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited sonography program with a degree in ultrasonography or equivalent.
  • ARDMS OB/GYN certified or eligible.
  • Fetal echo certification or eligible to obtain within 12 months of hire.
