The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of computer systems, platforms, application development processes, systems analysis, project management practices, and tools. They will lead one or more DevOps Teams responsible for the planning, development, and maintenance of large, complex systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects through the entire project life cycle, including planning, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Facilitate meetings with stakeholders from multiple levels and functions to ensure project scope and requirements are clearly defined.
  • Work closely with the customer to capture product requirements/user stories and create project plans and documentation.
  • Monitor project budget, including expenditures and projections, and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Meet and confer with management, users, and contract providers to resolve problems and coordinate services.
  • Actively contribute to problem resolutions, approve system changes, and establish project priorities.
  • Coordinate projects and ensure adequate administrative controls, quality, and procedural efficiencies.
  • Set goals, establish priorities, manage resources, develop concepts and approaches, review project progress and results, and make project management decisions.
Requirements
  • IT Project Management concepts, elements, practices, and tools.
  • Application of Project Management practices in software application development.
  • Understanding of project definitions, scope, objectives, business workflow processes and diagrams, application and database requirements, business functional specifications, design and technical specifications, business and technical standards documents, test case scenarios, and other analysis and design tasks and reports.
  • Software Development Lifecycle methodologies.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) application methodology.
  • Principles, theories, and practices of computer science.
  • Ability to learn and use automated software applications.
  • Ability to find and collect information from data sources.
  • Ability to use computer software programs to store, retrieve, analyze, and arrange data.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • Direct software systems analysis and/or business analysis experience and/or certification.
  • Clearly demonstrated successful experience managing cross-functional DevOps team(s), primarily in software development and/or within the SAFe Framework.
Reporting Relationships

The Project Manager reports directly to an IT Manager I/Release Train Engineer. They work laterally with other Information Analyst II/Scrum Masters, Project Managers, and external peer Business Analyst/Product owners.

The Project Manager is the functional leader of the assigned DevOps Team(s), which includes both technical and business staff.
