Role Summary:The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for delivering clinical services to patients in both inpatient and outpatient environments. This role involves active participation in patient care, education, and the formulation of policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong interpersonal skills and a comprehensive understanding of the collaborative roles within healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with physicians to provide consultations to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, testing, and treatment options.
- Conduct thorough health assessments to diagnose and treat patients effectively.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans that include both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
- Educate patients and families on health management and make necessary referrals to other healthcare professionals.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed.
- Prescribe treatments and medications within the established guidelines.
- Demonstrate effective organizational and decision-making skills in clinical practice.
- Provide emergency care and initiate life-saving measures as per established protocols.
- Adhere to the practice agreement with supervising physicians and comply with state regulations.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to foster positive working relationships.
- Current RN License from Virginia or a reciprocal compact state.
- Valid Adult Nurse Practitioner License from Virginia.
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- A minimum of five years of recent experience in adult medical-surgical settings.
- Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Strong leadership capabilities.
