Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled RF Plasma Modeling Engineer to join our team at Lam Research. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving tool development and insight into semiconductor fabrication equipment through modeling and simulation of RF systems and Multiphysics phenomena involving low temperature process plasmas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply knowledge of fundamental physics and state-of-the-art modeling and simulation techniques to inform tool design through concept and feasibility, root cause analysis, and optimization studies.
  • Model, analyze, and simulate plasma processes to solve Lam's toughest challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve problems, and communicate technical knowledge to a wide audience.
  • Develop best practices and workflows for simulating recurring problems in the world of plasma processing.
Requirements
  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering with experience in at least two of the following areas: computational plasmas, numerical methods, fluid dynamics, molecular gas dynamics, heat and mass transfer, reactive flows, programming, machine learning, and laboratory data analysis.
  • Strong fundamentals in plasma physics, electromagnetics, gas dynamics, heat transfer, and fluid flow.
  • Experience with commercial and open-source codes, and ability to develop scripts to efficiently perform simulations.
  • Ability to leverage machine learning, data science, and optimization methods to increase the impact of plasma models.
