We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer 2 to join our team at Next Move Healthcare. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing complex echocardiography procedures and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for procedures and obtain clinical history to adapt imaging techniques for comprehensive and diagnostic echocardiograms.
- Perform basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures utilizing various equipment and techniques, making necessary measurements to obtain accurate, high-quality results.
- Identify and define cardiac abnormalities, extending the scope of the examination when necessary, and correlate invasive and noninvasive cardiac diagnostic test results with cardiac anatomy and function.
- Assist physicians in procedure rooms and operating rooms by performing echocardiograph studies, aiding in complex procedures to decrease risk factors.
- Record statistics and perform daily maintenance of the Echocardiography Lab and its equipment, reporting malfunctions as appropriate.
- Act as a resource to other staff, physicians, and students regarding equipment, techniques, procedures, and studies to optimize patient care.
- Work closely with the cardiac sonographer quality coordinator to ensure adherence to quality processes and protocols, assisting with ICAEL accreditation activities as delegated.
- Knowledge and ability to apply complex sonographic principles, instrumentation, and techniques.
- Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to explain the purpose of the echocardiographic examination to patients and answer their questions.
- Knowledge of approved clinical protocols for various cardiovascular ultrasound examinations.
- Understanding of proper infection control procedures and relevant laws regarding patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with healthcare providers, including other sonographers, physicians, and nurses.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and the skilled use of computers and medical equipment.
