Job Title: Service Advisor

Food For The Poor is seeking a Service Advisor to join our Donor Relations Department. As a Service Advisor, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining relationships with our donors, ensuring their needs are met, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Make follow-up calls to thank donors and discuss special appeals, requesting their support.
  • Inquire about donor prayer needs and pray with them.
  • Respond to prayer requests from donors and offer to pray with them.
  • Answer questions and inquiries from donors.
  • Send information to the Manager for forwarding to the appropriate department.
  • Send donor-requested materials to the Department Manager.
  • Make notations in Donor Direct/Synthesis following calls to donors.
  • Send special cards to donors as required.
  • Confirm receipt of invitations to special events and facilitate donor attendance.
  • Review calling instructions and stay current on Food for the Poor's programs and services.
Requirements:
  • Minimum high school diploma.
  • Two years of related experience in sales/marketing/customer service.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Fundraising skills.
  • Ability to pray with donors.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent telephone communication and listening skills.
  • Proper telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to handle objections.
  • Persuasion skills.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft applications (Outlook and Excel).
  • Ability to use Synthesis.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to speak French, Spanish, and/or Haitian Creole (helpful).
Working Conditions:
  • 8-hour workday.
  • Sitting, standing, walking, and occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, crouching, kneeling, balancing, pushing/pulling, and carrying up to 10 lbs.

Food For The Poor is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing emergency relief assistance, clean water, medicines, educational materials, homes, support for orphans and the aged, skills training, and micro-enterprise development assistance to the poor primarily in 17 countries of the Caribbean and Latin America.
