Since opening our first school in Delano in 2009, we have expanded to serve over 1,800 students in grades TK-12 in Delano and more than 400 students in Lost Hills.

Position Overview
Wonderful College Prep Academy (WCPA) is in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Mathematics Support Specialist to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will deliver focused math support through both integrated and separate services to assist students in overcoming academic challenges in mathematics and achieving their educational goals. This position is vital to our mission of ensuring that every student is equipped for college and future success.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Support: Develop and execute math intervention strategies customized to meet the unique needs of students who are struggling academically. Provide small group and individualized instruction through both integrated and separate models to reinforce mathematical concepts and skills. Utilize assessment data to identify students requiring intervention and track their progress.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with classroom educators to align intervention strategies with the core curriculum and classroom instruction. Engage in grade-level team meetings, professional development opportunities, and collaborative planning to enhance student achievement. Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and strategies for supporting math learning at home.
- Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Conduct and evaluate formative and summative assessments to identify student needs and measure progress. Keep accurate records of student performance and utilize data to refine instructional practices. Prepare and present progress reports to educators, parents, and administrators.
- Curriculum Development: Create and modify instructional materials and resources to cater to the diverse needs of students. Incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods to enrich math instruction and student engagement.
- Student Support: Cultivate a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere that promotes student engagement and confidence in mathematics. Implement strategies to support students' social-emotional development in relation to math learning.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Valid California teaching credential with a specialization in Mathematics or a related area.
- A minimum of three years of successful teaching experience, ideally at the middle school level.
- Proven expertise in math instruction and intervention strategies.
- Strong understanding of data-driven instruction and the ability to analyze assessment data to inform practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to WCPA's mission of preparing all students for college and success beyond high school.
- Experience in a charter school environment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Familiarity with the Response to Intervention (RTI) model.
- Knowledge of technology-based math intervention programs and tools.
