Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in Women's Health is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through the nursing process in accordance with established policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical/ICU/E.D./OR/PACU/OPS/NICU and be certified in BLS, CPI, and other unit-specific competencies. The nurse will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Make patient care assignments based on patient acuity and the skill, experience, and competencies of the nursing staff.
  • Evaluate and modify patient care assignments as needed.
  • Demonstrate effective clinical reasoning and the ability to effectively reprioritize patient/unit needs.
  • Assist in the orientation, evaluation, and supervision of agency/temporary staff, new nurses, and other staff as needed.
  • Delegates tasks or interventions in accordance with the Texas Administrative Code Rule 224.6 to ensure patient safety through ongoing supervision and accountability.

Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Texas.
  • Certification per unit-specific competency (i.e., BLS, CPI, etc.).
  • NIHS Scale, stroke education, cardiac education, and ortho education as per department-specific competencies.
