We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Advanced Practitioner to join our team at UNIVERSITY PHYSICIANS ASSOC INC.
About the RoleWe are looking for a dedicated and experienced Advanced Practitioner to work as a team with our physicians and other medical professionals to provide high-quality patient care. As a Full Time Advanced Practitioner, you will be responsible for promoting and maintaining patient health, contributing to a physician's efficiency, and implementing physician directives.
Responsibilities- Promote and maintain patient health by providing medical services under the supervision of a physician.
- Contribute to a physician's efficiency by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues.
- Recommend options and courses of action for patient care.
- Implement physician directives.
- Assess patient health by interviewing patients and performing physical examinations, including obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
- Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering additional services as available to the patient or via clinic resources, such as diagnostic tests, X-rays, laboratory studies, and interpreting test results.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Perform general therapeutic procedures, such as administering injections and immunizations, and managing wounds and infections.
- Communicate well with patients by providing clear information on medication adherence and communicating with the Director on the needs of the patient base for growth of resources and services.
- Provide community of care by developing and implementing patient-management plans.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, and enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending standard HR compliance trainings, maintaining professional licensing, and participating in clinic-provided trainings or continuing education as needed or requested to support the service mission.
- Must have at least 5 years of primary care experience.
- Nurse Practitioner or PA-C licensure.
- Must be comfortable working with underserved and diverse populations with compassion and cultural competency.
