University Physicians' Association, Inc. is seeking a skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to enhance our healthcare team. We are considering candidates for both full-time and part-time roles. The selected individual will play a crucial role in delivering medical care to patients within a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and will also provide support in our well-baby nursery and other community Level I nurseries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with physicians to develop and implement effective treatment plans for patients.
- Conduct thorough assessments of health conditions and gather patient information through interviews and observations.
- Accurately document all findings and actions in the patient's medical records.
- Coordinate necessary testing, procedures, and other medical interventions as identified.
- Exhibit strong communication skills to ensure effective interactions with patients and team members.
- Maintain continuity of care by monitoring patient progress and adjusting care plans as needed.
- Review laboratory results, diagnostic tests, and relevant notes to inform patient care.
- Assist in the transport of critically ill neonates as required.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and protect health information in accordance with established regulations.
- Adhere to the professional standards and practices for Nurse Practitioners in the State of Tennessee.
About University of Tennessee Medical Center (UTMC):
- Designated as the Regional Perinatal Center for East Tennessee.
- Features a Level IV Obstetrics Unit with a significant number of annual deliveries.
- Operates a Level III NICU with a capacity of 65 beds, providing all private rooms for patients.
- UTMC is recognized as the region's only academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center.
