Key Responsibilities
  • Department Leadership: Assist in leading the meat department team, providing guidance and support to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Inventory Management: Order and maintain inventory in the meat department, utilizing inventory control procedures to ensure product freshness and quality.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain familiarity with all products carried in the meat department, including meats, poultry, seafood, and other related products.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions and making recommendations to customers on meat products.
  • Team Management: Assist in managing a team of meat department associates, providing training and development opportunities to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Store Operations: Assist in maintaining a clean, attractive, and well-stocked meat department, adhering to company standards and guidelines.
  • Food Safety: Ensure that all food safety guidelines and requirements are followed and maintained throughout the meat department.

  • Performance Management: Assist in developing and implementing plans to meet company goals and key performance indicators.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
  • Skills: Basic mathematical skills, ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents, basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, etc.)
  • Experience: Previous experience in a retail meat department or related field
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
