Airworthiness Inspector Sr A&P Job Description

Job Summary:


The Senior Airworthiness Inspector Sr A&P is responsible for ensuring the quality and airworthiness of aircraft and components in the Repair Station. This role requires a strong understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations, FAA forms, and documentation.


Key Responsibilities:



  1. Conduct quality control inspections on aircraft and components to ensure conformity to FAA-approved data.

  2. Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and inspection requirements on aircraft during maintenance or outfitting.

  3. Keep accurate and legible records of work performed on aircraft and components.

  4. Coordinate with RTS to ensure accurate aircraft records are produced in a timely manner.

  5. Conduct audits of maintenance documentation for accuracy and completion on all aircraft prior to approval for return to service.

  6. Ensure aircraft and components are airworthy prior to any flight activities.

  7. Mentor technicians on effective documentation.

Requirements:



  1. High School Diploma or GED required.

  2. 6 years aircraft/component inspection experience, including 3 years on large or mid-size aircraft.

  3. Airframe and Powerplant License required.

  4. Proficient in blueprint reading, use/interpretation of Maintenance Manuals, test specifications, and other inspection-related documentation.

  5. Familiar with FAA certification approval processes.

  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  7. Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Word, and minimum 20 WPM typing speed.

  8. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Additional Information:


This is a full-time position with up to 50% travel. The compensation range for this role is $44.13 to $48.78 per hour. Final compensation will be determined by several factors, including minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.
