The Atlanta Legal Aid Society seeks an experienced Director of Information Technology to lead its IT team and drive strategic technology initiatives. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will report directly to the Executive Director and be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's information technology needs.

Founded in 1924, the Atlanta Legal Aid Society is a non-profit law firm that represents low-income individuals in various civil legal matters. With over 150 staff members and five offices across a five-county service area, we provide essential services to our clients and their communities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this senior leadership position is $105,000 annually, with opportunities for annual increases based on performance. Our comprehensive benefits package includes 18 paid holidays, six weeks of paid time off, six weeks of parental leave, health, life, and disability insurance, partial payment for dependent health insurance, and educational loan reimbursement up to $600 per month. We also offer a flexible spending account option and a voluntary tax-sheltered annuity with a 3% match.

Responsibilities

This is a new position that will oversee all aspects of our information technology needs, including managing, implementing, recommending enhancements, and innovative technology to support our goals. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a strategy for Legal Aid's information technology needs in collaboration with the Executive Director;
  • Working with the IT manager to develop and implement department goals;
  • Managing contract negotiations with IT vendors, contractors, and service providers;
  • Creating and implementing IT policies, protocols, and standards;
  • Leading the IT team; recruiting, supervising, and developing IT staff, contractors, and vendors;
  • Maintaining accurate records of IT activities, including contracts;
  • Serving as a key member of the strategic planning staff leadership;
Requirements

We are seeking an individual with impeccable IT knowledge and technical skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of data management and administration. Strong interpersonal, relational, and collaborative skills are also essential, along with superior leadership skills, excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently. Prior experience working in a large non-profit organization is a plus, as is a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or another relevant field. A graduate degree in IT management, project management, or computer information systems is also highly valued.
