Pharmacy Technician II Job Description

Highmark Health is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician II to provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance, and support for our registered pharmacists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process medication orders, including computer order entry, medication preparation, and assembling all items prior to pharmacist final check.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory and supplies according to established policies and procedures, including inspection of assigned areas and use of pharmacy computer systems.
  • Provide customer service by taking patient prescriptions and documenting all required information, handling all customer interactions in a courteous and efficient manner, and releasing medications required by policy/procedure.
  • Assist with patient population management, including outpatient and inpatient techs, and perform various duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or 1 year equivalent experience in lieu of formal training program.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT). Incumbents in role as of April 9, 2023 must achieve CPhT by 1/1/2024.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of pharmacy experience in respective area.
