Position SummaryThe PythonX Machine Operator will be responsible for plasma cutting structural steel components according to blueprints, travelers, cutlists, verbal instructions, or hand sketches. This role includes material handling, machine loading and unloading, and maintaining equipment cleanliness along with basic upkeep.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret blueprints, shop orders, written procedures, and verbal directives from supervisors.
- Ensure proper positioning and accuracy of materials on the production line.
- Confirm that the operational program from the front office executes as intended.
- Remove completed pieces and manage scrap materials effectively.
- Label job numbers and piece marks on finished products.
- Initial and date cutlists or drawings upon completion of pieces.
- Verify part counts against nesting and parts lists.
- Experience in setting up and operating CNC machines (PythonX or burntables) with plasma cutting expertise.
- Proficiency in PC operations, particularly with Windows; experience with 3D machine operations is preferred.
- Able to follow verbal instructions from supervisors and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Competent in using hand tools and reading measuring tapes accurately.
- Exhibit strong work ethics (punctuality, reliability, and pride in work).
- Willingness to work overtime and on select Saturdays as needed.
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform some heavy lifting.
Typical hours are Monday through Thursday from 6 AM to 2:30 PM or 4:30 PM, depending on workload, with Fridays from 6 AM to 2:30 PM and Saturdays as required.
