Responsibilities:

The Chief Billing Operations Officer will oversee the service delivery for all business office processes, practices, and outreach physician services across various locations. This role is accountable for managing accounts receivable for professional billing.

The successful candidate will:

  • Establish internal controls to ensure timely completion of professional business office activities while fostering relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Utilize analytical skills and internal resources to make informed decisions in a dynamic environment.
  • Make strategic decisions informed by organizational challenges, trends, and business implications, recognizing the potential regional impacts.
  • Lead through influence and advocacy, demonstrating a proven track record of managing high-performing teams and acting as a change agent.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Overseeing all facets of professional billing, including ASC and associated community practices and physician offices, focusing on revenue capture, claims management, and denial resolution.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in all billing activities with utmost integrity.
  • Monitoring and establishing best practice standards in billing environments based on EPIC Financial Pulses, including metrics such as A/R days, cash/net revenue, and denials management.
  • Providing comprehensive reporting to leadership on team productivity, key metrics, and action plans for improvement.
  • Developing and updating policies and procedures related to professional billing to support operational standards and financial objectives.
  • Managing transitions from legacy billing systems to the EPIC PB billing system.
  • Overseeing third-party vendors involved in claims processing and follow-up.
  • Leading and mentoring the management team and staff to foster a high-performing, engaged workforce through training and development opportunities.
  • Preparing and managing the annual expense budget.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
