The Central Billing Office (CBO) Insurance Resolution Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that all facilities within UVA Health System receive accurate reimbursements from insurance companies. This position is responsible for handling and resolving all insurance billing follow-up and denial issues, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements as well as payer regulations. The incumbent will serve as a liaison between insurance companies, patients, and departments to guarantee timely and accurate claims processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inpatient and outpatient billing processes for multiple facility types within UVA Health assigned to the CBO.
  • Follow up on and resolve insurance denials, appealing claims as defined by payer and departmental rules.
  • Resolve insurance billing and payment collection processes through in-depth knowledge of revenue cycle principles.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to inquiries from insurance companies, UVA Health clinical departments, and patients.
  • Analyze patient accounts to ensure efficient and timely adjudication.
  • Evaluate expected reimbursement and payments to guarantee accurate processing for all lines of business and facilities assigned to the CBO.
  • Perform revenue cycle department functions to achieve departmental goals.

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • 2 years of relevant experience
