Position Overview:

The Coordinator of Migrant Education Programs is responsible for overseeing the additional tutoring and family engagement initiatives within the Migrant Education Program. This role involves collaborating closely with the program lead to strategize, develop, execute, and assess the district's migrant education initiatives. The primary objective of the program is to provide supplemental services aimed at enhancing the success of migrant students and their families. This includes identifying and recruiting eligible students, offering support services tailored to the unique challenges faced by migrant families, delivering academic assistance, facilitating literacy programs, and promoting parental involvement activities.

Compensation:

Hourly Rate: Grade 6: $70,605 - $100,641 DOE
Work Schedule: 8 hours per day
Annual Commitment: 12 months
Bargaining Unit: Non-represented

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related discipline. Relevant coursework and professional development may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in child advocacy and outreach to parents of school-aged children.
  • Experience in tutoring within a K-12 educational environment.
  • Proven experience in supervising and training adult staff.
  • Familiarity with the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, particularly as it relates to the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015.
  • Understanding of the impacts of trauma and poverty on children.
  • Experience in data analysis to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with students and parents, and building community connections.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in using computers for correspondence, data management, and reporting.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships with school personnel, community organizations, students, and families.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, current insurance, and vehicle registration.
