Clinical Dietitian

The Clinical Dietitian at UNC Health plays a vital role in coordinating evidence-based medical nutrition therapy with the multidisciplinary healthcare team. This position requires a strong understanding of the Nutrition Care Process and the ability to apply it in a clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assess nutritional needs using standardized practice and critical thinking to identify nutrient requirements for assigned patients.
- Act as a resource person for the specialty team assigned and serve as a liaison between other medical specialties and ancillary services.
- Assist in achieving compliance with regulatory agency standards to continuously improve the safety and quality of care.
- Develop, implement, and monitor nutrition care plans and participate in the discharge planning process.
- Provide education using established behavioral change techniques and counsel patients on nutrition-related topics.
- Bachelor's degree from a US regionally accredited university or college with course work accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
- Completion of a Coordinated Program in Dietetics or Dietetic Internship accredited by ACEND.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) by The Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) and Licensed as a Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) by the North Carolina Board of Dietetics and Nutrition.
This position will cover three UNCPN clinics - Orange Family Medical Group, Chapel Hill Internal Medicine, and UNC Primary Care Mebane. UNC Health is a qualifying organization for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.
