Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Underwater Technology Specialist to join our team at Oceaneering, a global provider of engineered services and products to the offshore energy industry.

About the Role
  • Operate Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), Subsea Tooling, IWOCS and RWOCS Systems, Tensioning and Reel Systems in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain and repair all electronic, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and sub-systems associated with ROV operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties
  1. Operate equipment such as cameras, acoustic positioning systems, sonars, manipulators, LARS, hydraulic power units, complex subsea tooling, surface and subsea workover systems.
  2. Evaluate environment conditions and hazards, dock/undock from TMS, and navigate the ROV by acoustics, sonar, and visual (video).
  3. Perform maintenance/repairs on equipment: maintain/repair electronics, maintain/repair hydraulics, maintain/repair mechanics, use test equipment, calibrate, and align equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 18-24 months of formal mechanical and hydraulic training and 18-24 months of formal electrical and electronics training; or combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid Passport and any other regionally mandated offshore work requirement documents as appropriate.
Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFSHORE WORK which involves working outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water.

The job requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment, frequently exposed to high humidity, noise levels above 85 decibels, and intense glare.

Physical Activity Requirements

This position is considered HEAVY work, requiring occasional lifting of 50-100 pounds, working in confined spaces, kneeling, jumping, running, and using repetitive movements of the arms and hands.

Frequent activities include lifting 25-50 pounds, wearing PPE for head and hands, climbing stairs/ladders, standing, balancing, stooping, squatting, reaching, and lifting/carrying objects.

Constant activities include standing and walking, wearing PPE for body, vision, and hearing protection.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
