Job Overview
This role involves supporting the Quality Assurance Lab Manager and Lab Supervisor in executing essential tasks to evaluate the quality of processed and raw cottonseed.
The technician will be engaged in sampling and testing cottonseed during two distinct phases of the agricultural cycle.
The first phase includes sampling all returned processed cottonseed at the distribution facility during peak operational months.
The technician will be responsible for accurately sampling bulk containers and bags of cottonseed, primarily conducted at the distribution center.
The QA Technician is expected to adhere to the directives provided by the company leads regarding proper sampling techniques and visual inspections for quality assurance.
The second phase involves sampling and analyzing truckloads of raw cottonseed within a laboratory environment.
Responsibilities will include conducting various tests, which may encompass Moisture content, Temperature, Free Fatty Acid levels, Genetic Purity, Visual Mechanical Damage assessment, Adventitious Presence, Seed Count, pH levels, Seed Appearance, and Warm and Cool Germination tests.
A background in biology, laboratory practices, or agricultural sciences is preferred for this position.
