About This Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to join our team as a Senior Lead Application Developer. In this role, you will be responsible for leading complex systems analysis and programming tasks, evaluating technical feasibility, and developing/modifying systems to meet business needs.

As a Technical Lead, you will lead projects and direct the work of other developers, providing training and guidance to less experienced staff. You will also stay current on new and emerging technologies and work independently while keeping direct manager updated on work assignments.

This is a remote role with a salary of up to $140K. If you have 6-10 years of experience in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, and are an expert in secure client-facing application development, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • Codes, unit tests, and debugs programs ensuring optimal performance using exceptional programming techniques
  • Writes technical specifications and creates thorough unit test plans for complex projects that cross over applications and technologies
  • Performs thorough unit testing for new functionality, applications, conversions, and through full regression validation
  • Directs training of business personnel in new and modified systems
  • Provides on-call support for production and lower environments
  • Provides training by working with and mentoring other developers and/or contractors
Analysis and Investigative Responsibilities

You will apply superior analysis skills and business knowledge to solve complex business problems, meet independently with business partners, management, and third-party vendors to determine systems solutions, and evaluate technical feasibility.

You will also analyze detailed systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and alternative methods of problem resolution to ensure optimal performance.

Project Delivery Responsibilities

You will direct project teams in system creation, planning, and coordination with other IT teams and resources, perform as project leader on large, complex projects, and manage all aspects including planning, scheduling meetings, documenting decisions, making appropriate updates in project management system, and providing system documentation including all 'as built' diagrams.

You will also create and/or update system documentation as appropriate based on project assignment, develop project proposals (including estimates) and present to stakeholders for review and approval, and discuss and document how proposed changes to the system will affect business process or other relevant systems.

Project Leadership

You will manage multi-person/cross team projects to completion, including project design and proposals, maintain positive business/peer interactions, and perform technical interviews as needed to backfill open development positions.

You will also be responsible for all aspects of project management, compliance, and ensuring new development tools, methods, or frameworks provide for secure coding techniques.

Supervisory Responsibilities

You will provide training, guidance, or mentoring to team members, and have no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Education, Experience & Certificates

You will have a technical, trade, or business school degree or equivalent experience in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, and 6-10 years of experience.

You will be an expert in secure client-facing application development, advanced proficiency in SQL or NoSQL DBMS, and advanced proficiency in analytical, problem-solving skills, and technical leadership skills developing quality frontend solutions.

You will also have experience with Typescript for frontend and API development, experience working with Node.JS and frameworks such as Express and NestJS, and experience with State Management solutions such as Redux or Vuex.

You will have a deep understanding and hands-on experience with Jenkins, expert-level experience with the Linux command-line, and expert knowledge of security best practices.

You will be highly skilled in debugging techniques, advanced knowledge of build tools such as Webpack or Rollup, and advanced knowledge of code optimization techniques such as code splitting to decrease initial load times.

You will also have experience with Spring Boot and hybrid mobile application development.
