Job Summary

The Cashier is a key role in our stores, responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring a smooth checkout experience. As a Cashier, you will be the face of our company, interacting with customers and colleagues alike. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Customer Service

  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Greet customers warmly and thank them by name when possible.
  • Project a friendly and outgoing demeanor, working well with customers and colleagues.
  • Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
  • Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously, and effectively.
  • Communicate any problems or issues that require management assistance.
  • Build product knowledge and assist customers with store layout and product location.
Register Operations

  • Follow all cash register transaction procedures.
  • Responsible for balancing the register drawer.
  • Adhere to any Store Support Center program or promotion that may require implementation at the cash registers.
  • Participate in store and Cashier meetings.
Front End Appearance and Upkeep

  • Keep the front end, including checkout areas and entrance doors, neat and clean at all times.
  • Assist with keeping impulse counters stocked and faced, rotating fresh merchandise as seasons change.
  • Ensure fresh ads are stocked in shopping carts at all times.
  • Ensure forms and supplies are stocked at all times.
  • Assist with decorating the front end according to the Store Support Center program.
  • Call for cart pickups when necessary.
  • Inform management when merchandise returns need to be put away.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Cashier experience preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 25lbs), and climb.
Compensation

We offer a competitive starting pay rate of $12.30 per hour.
