Healthcare Nursing Leader

The Nursing Supervisor is a licensed nursing professional who operates under the guidance of the Director of Nursing Services.
This role involves aiding in the planning, organization, development, and direction of nursing services to ensure the highest quality of resident care is consistently delivered.
Qualifications for Nursing Supervisor
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Current nursing license in the practicing state.
- A minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
- Exemplary leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Proficient in English communication, both verbal and written.
- Possess sound mental, emotional, and physical health.
Key Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities
- Ensure residents are provided with a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.
- Initiate resident Care Plans upon admission.
- Assist in implementing recommendations from consultants and the Quality Assurance team as directed by the Director of Nursing Services.
- Support the development, review, and revision of individual resident Care Plans.
- Notify the resident's attending physician and legal representative when significant changes in the resident's condition occur.
- Address complaints and grievances from families and inform the Director of Nursing Services as needed.
- Evaluate emergencies and assist in executing emergency protocols.
- Maintain a clean and safe unit environment, ensuring necessary supplies and equipment are available for nursing care.
- Assist in notifying physicians of any resident incidents or unusual occurrences, ensuring proper documentation is completed.
- Support the Charge Nurse in investigating allegations of abuse or unusual occurrences.
- Administer and monitor intravenous medications as prescribed.
- Assist nursing staff in performing necessary nursing procedures.
- Facilitate the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for residents.
- Help rectify findings and deficiencies identified by health department inspections and quality assurance evaluations.
- Conduct assessments including restraint, pain, oral, psychotropic, bowel, and bladder evaluations.
- Ensure all nursing notes are recorded accurately and descriptively, reflecting the care provided and the resident's response.
- Participate in staff meetings and in-service training sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing Services or Administrator.
Supervisory Duties
- Conduct rounds to verify that appropriate care is being delivered, making necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to identify and resolve issues and enhance resident care.
- Accompany attending physicians on rounds as required.
- Assist the Charge Nurse in managing assignments during nursing shortages.
- Oversee and guide nursing personnel in their duties.
- Participate in the evaluation and disciplinary processes for nursing staff.
Consumer Service Commitment
- Exhibit a professional demeanor through appropriate attire, behavior, and communication.
- Adhere to company standards for addressing consumer concerns.
- Ensure the protection of all resident rights.
