Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at Carilion Clinic. As a Clinical Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients within our service line, ensuring safe and effective drug therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a clinical practice by participating in clinical rounds and collaborating with service line providers to develop policies and protocols.
  • Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients, including medication management and education.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement clinical practice guidelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Precept pharmacy students, PGY1 pharmacy residents, and PGY2 pharmacy residents as relevant to their practice setting.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a College of Pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
  • Current Virginia pharmacist license or eligibility for licensure.
  • ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency.
  • Specialized PGY2 residency training in the respective practice setting preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Advanced skills in critical thinking and analysis.
