Job Summary

UNC Rex Healthcare's Pharmacy Team is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Pharmacist to join our team. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in providing patient care to our decentralized clinical pharmacy services, including Internal Medicine, Neurology, and Surgery. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment alongside our inpatient care teams.

Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness
  • Assess relevant patient data and make pharmaceutical care interventions
  • Promote and demonstrate rational, cost-effective drug therapy
  • Provide antimicrobial management and pharmacist support to inpatient nursing units
  • Counsel patients and family members regarding pharmaceutical care issues and lifestyle modifications
  • Adverse Drug Event and Medication Error Reporting
  • Staff education and Code Blue participation
  • Precept pharmacy students and residents
  • Respond to drug information requests and participate in protocol and guideline development
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • PharmD or BS Pharmacy Degree
  • Active pharmacist licensure with the NC Board of Pharmacy or obtainable before initiation of employment
  • No prior experience required
