Conductor Trainee

As a Conductor Trainee at BNSF Railway, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trains across our vast network. Your responsibilities will include switching railcars, operating track switches, and monitoring train conditions to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Switch railcars and operate track switches to change train routing within yards or on road
• Monitor and report daily work, including weather-related problems and track conditions
• Inspect cars per federal regulations and observe and report on passing train conditions
• Work in extreme all-weather conditions, walk and perform work on uneven surfaces, and be safety-sensitive in a loud noise and fume environment

Requirements:

• At least 18 years of age, or will be by the start date listed above
• Able to report for duty at the designated work location
• Able to work safely in extreme all-weather conditions
• Able to read, write, and communicate in English
• Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds

Training and Development:

• Company-paid on-the-job and classroom training for up to 19 weeks
• May include travel to BNSF's Training Center in Overland Park, KS
