La Cheim School, Inc. has been providing comprehensive care services for nearly 50 years, serving children and adults in need. Our continuum of care includes nonpublic schools, community mental health centers, therapeutic behavioral services, and residential treatment centers, all located throughout Alameda and Contra Costa County.

Our Team

Our team consists of dedicated professionals, including teachers, art therapists, counselors, psychiatrists, psychologists, RNs, social workers, MFTs, and mentors, who are known for their expertise and compassion. They create life-changing experiences for those they serve.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide general supervision to clients in accordance with facility policies and Trauma-Informed Principles.
  • Support clients' needs in a culturally and linguistically responsible manner.
  • Document mental health interventions.
  • Assist clients with daily tasks, such as preparing for school and administering medications.
  • Communicate with overnight staff and review incident reports during transitions.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience interacting with youth in a collaborative manner, incorporating Trauma-Informed Care Principles.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment and promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Capacity to oversee and track communications.
  • Valid California driver's license.
  • Clearance of TB Test, Physical Exam, FBI, and DOJ checks.
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting: up to 2 hours, not continuously.
  • Standing: up to 4 hours, not continuously.
  • Walking: up to 2 hours, not continuously.
  • Bending over: up to 1 hour, not continuously.
Available Schedule
  • 4-hour shifts.
  • 8-hour shifts.
  • Monday to Friday.
  • Night shifts.
  • On-call shifts.
  • Overnight shifts.
  • Weekend availability.
