Role Overview: As the Logistics Operations Supervisor, you will manage several key areas essential for the seamless operation of our logistics processes. Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers, suppliers, and team members to guarantee fulfillment of customer commitments.
- Exhibit a thorough understanding of GXO's quality standards; develop procedures to uphold quality objectives.
- Guide supervisors regarding personnel management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
- Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate staff effectively.
- Propose initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Manage equipment and coordinate maintenance requirements with the maintenance team.
- Ensure proper record-keeping and timely completion of reports.
- Adhere to and enforce all safety protocols, ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and other relevant regulations.
Qualifications:
To succeed at GXO, you will need:
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and familiarity with computerized scanning equipment.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule as required, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may involve weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related discipline.
- 4 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
- Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Process Improvement methodologies.
- Experience in warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL).
- Adeptness in maintaining a safe work environment by monitoring and enforcing safety practices across all departments.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and statistical analysis skills.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to:
- Lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights.
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
- Reach (including overhead), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel.
- Tolerate varying warehouse temperatures.
