Job Title: Camp Specialty Instructor

At the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, we're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Camp Specialty Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our camp staff, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality programs and activities that promote youth development, education, and recreation.

Job Summary:

The Camp Specialty Instructor will work under the direction of the Day Camp Lead to provide guidance, safety, leadership, and education to children participating in our camp programs. This role requires a strong background in a specialty area, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging and educational programs that meet the needs of our campers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to parents and campers, ensuring a positive and safe experience for all.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to plan and deliver camp activities, events, and programs.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and healthy environment for staff and campers.
  • Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience working with children in a structured setting.
  • Background and expertise in a specialty area.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Prior experience working with teens.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Current certifications in First Aid/CPR; must obtain any other certifications required for the position.
