Cook I Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cook I to join our team at Desert Diamond Casinos. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of foods to meet the demands of our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook a range of menu items, including quantities and styles as required.
  • Use and learn proper knife skills, cooking techniques, and terminology to ensure high-quality dishes.
  • Read, understand, and follow standardized recipes to prepare all foods for various food venues and outlets.
  • Communicate effectively with Room Chefs and Venue Managers to ensure safe par levels and proper stock levels.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work area, adhering to tribal, city, state, and federal health/food safety regulations and codes.
  • Ensure all areas of your assigned venue/outlet/kitchen are clean, organized, and ready for operation by designated times set by management.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, labeling, and dating of food storage areas.
  • Contribute to a positive and professional work environment by communicating effectively with team members and performing other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow recipes and cooking procedures.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
