Key Responsibilities
  • Design and engineer projects related to new runway and taxiway layouts, existing pavement upgrades, airfield lighting systems, hangar structures, fencing, and drainage solutions.
  • Lead the creation of airport design documentation, including plans, profiles, grading, drainage, markings, navigational aids, lighting, and other design components typical of airport construction.
  • Prepare engineering fee estimates and project schedules to align with project objectives.
  • Independently execute essential design tasks for engineering projects.
  • Utilize technical expertise to review, approve, and seal engineering work.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff while supporting their professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with KSA standards and all relevant quality, safety, and governmental design regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience in aviation or transportation engineering.
  • Possession of a current Professional Engineering License in Texas or the ability to obtain one within four months.
  • Experience in producing and delivering airport or transportation construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in advanced Civil3D applications for corridor modeling, grading, and drainage design.
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications, including TEAMS, Word, Excel, Newforma, and Bluebeam.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary airport improvement projects.
  • Background in construction administration for public infrastructure.
  • Experience delivering aviation or transportation projects for public entities in Texas.
  • Ability to manage survey, geotechnical, and other subconsultants.
  • Experience in proposal preparation and client presentations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
