About the Role

Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking a skilled and dedicated Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our imaging department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities
  • Perform computerized tomography (CT) procedures on assigned patients, ensuring that scanning needs are met and reviewing physician orders for applicability to the CT protocol.
  • Screen patients for safety and review any contraindications for exams, which would prohibit or modify the CT exam, consulting with radiologists as necessary and documenting changes in the electronic health record.
  • Prioritize exams, scheduling them to ensure smooth workflow, minimize wait times, and address stat and urgent requests, ensuring other resources have been scheduled accordingly.
  • Respond to inquiries, calls, and emails in a timely and professional manner, communicating shift hand-offs regarding workflow issues with equipment or pending exams with oncoming staff.
  • Engage in equitable distribution of departmental workloads and participate in departmental Performance Improvement Programs, promoting Parkland Health's mission, vision, values, and its relationship to the work environment.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology and/or Computed Tomography (CT) Program.
  • Prefer two (2) years of experience performing Radiology procedures, but all experience will be considered.
  • Must have current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography (R) and/or Computed Tomography (CT), with certification in CT required within 1 year from the date of hire if hired with ARRT (R) only.
  • Must have a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification from Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) or Texas Medical Board.
  • Must have a current Healthcare Provider CPR course completion card or obtain certification during initial orientation at Parkland from one of the following: American Heart Association, American Red Cross Rescuer, or Military Training Network.
